Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in the absence of the regular teacher
- Develop and implement lesson plans, as needed, to meet the needs of students
- Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with school staff, teachers, and administrators
- Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your Scoot consultant to discuss school feedback and develop your skills
- Be available to work on a flexible schedule, including day-to-day and long-term assignments
Essential Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Bachelor's degree
- CO Substitute Teacher Authorization (or be in the process of obtaining)
- Background check (we'll cover the cost of the one you do with Scoot)
- Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor
- A passion for education and putting students first
- An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience
- Special education experience or training
- Experience working with diverse student populations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
