About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Agency Sales Manager to lead our Travel Management Company (TMC) business development efforts. As a seasoned sales professional, you'll serve as an informed authority, exercising significant judgment to drive consistent revenue growth by leveraging our organization and corporate client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as an informed authority for TMC business, building strategic relationships with key accounts focused on business travel expertise.
- Exercise extensive judgment to manage pricing, cost analysis, and negotiations of all TMC agreements, aiming to secure the highest market share and yield possible.
- Collaborate with legal and risk management teams to develop contractually binding agreements.
- Analyze revenue, discounts, and contract performance to ensure objective compliance and profitability.
- Develop marketing-related promotions to support sales efforts, working closely with marketing and business loyalty teams.
- Manage the administration of TMC agency accounts through sales calls, negotiating agreements, and coordination with pricing.
- Drive business growth and lead development of other agency accounts through collaboration with the revenue management team.
- Monitor reporting and metrics to identify trends and develop strategies to ensure the organization is well-positioned in the market.
- Effectively manage and allocate time and resources, maximizing revenue opportunities at the most cost-effective rate.
- Prepare and execute local sales plans according to corporate sales targets, ensuring blithequark is strategically positioned among its competitors.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- 2+ years of experience in outside sales, with a focus on the retail management environment or related area.
- A Bachelor's degree, or 2+ years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following skills and experience can give you a competitive edge:
- Previous airline experience.
- Familiarity with travel industry data reporting sources like ARC and Sabre.
- Proficiency with CRM tool Salesforce.
- Strong relational skills, with the ability to drive results to the greatest advantage of the organization.
- Ability to establish cross-functional, collaborative relationships with various teams and workgroups.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to adapt to conflicts caused by competing priorities.
