Job Summary
As a Technology SCM Category Manager, you will play a critical role in managing a portfolio of technology suppliers, supporting complex and high-value contracts, and working with cross-functional teams to ensure suppliers meet business objectives. You will lead strategic sourcing events, negotiations, and contract drafting, while also mentoring junior-level colleagues and providing expert advice on technology spend and supplier-related issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Supplier Management: Advise technology stakeholders on common risk elements of supplier agreements, programs, or projects, and manage supplier communications and contract negotiations.
- Strategic Sourcing: Assist leaders with decision-making by encouraging competitive evaluation of new suppliers through the RFP process, and create and implement negotiation strategies.
- Contract Management: Manage on-going demand planning with technology and business stakeholders for assigned agreements and renewals, and support multiple technical categories across multiple programs and areas of the business.
- Business Analysis: Identify potential procurement opportunities through data analysis, category and industry knowledge, and discussions with stakeholders.
- Performance Management: Communicate performance and concerns with suppliers that may result in redefining the relationship.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with internal customers to gain a solid understanding of business requirements and educate stakeholders to achieve improved business outcomes.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain management, procurement, or a related field, with a focus on technology suppliers.
- Skills: Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Certifications: Certification in supply chain management or procurement (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry Experience: Experience working in the airline or aviation industry, or with technology suppliers.
- Data Analysis: Strong data analysis skills, with experience using data to inform business decisions.
- Leadership: Experience leading or mentoring junior-level colleagues.
