Job Summary
We're seeking an experienced Technical Information Expert to join our Maintenance Projects team. As a Technical Information Expert, you will play a critical role in driving a culture of safety, efficiency, and innovation by identifying opportunities and solutions to improve our Maintenance Program and Aircraft Reliability. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams across the organization to analyze and improve maintenance programs, identify and address adverse trends, and provide detailed briefings to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze aircraft operational data to identify deficiencies and improve ETOPS and Reliability Maintenance programs
- Perform data collection, validation, and categorization on data elements required by the Reliability Program, demonstrating good judgment in selecting methods for acquiring and processing data
- Conduct root cause analysis on data of varying complexity to assess aircraft/fleet performance for safety, reliability, and financial impact, and identify deficiencies in the Maintenance Program
- Streamline processes by collaborating with colleagues and working with Clients and Administration across different departments to rapidly communicate relevant issues and define, analyze, and deliver creative solutions based on business objectives
- Work with individuals and groups across Tech Operations, various Divisions, and external suppliers to identify and address adverse trends, assess the effectiveness of corrective actions, and provide detailed briefings up to Southwest Senior Leadership
- Evaluate and apply performance standards and statistical analysis techniques and propose changes on a case-by-case basis
- Examine ad-hoc requests resulting from emerging maintenance issues and provide suitable recommendations to Senior Management while balancing existing project commitments
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Managers
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; four-year degree or equivalent work experience in Aviation, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, Computer Science, or Statistics preferred
- Advanced experience, training, and concentrated knowledge in:
- Using data to determine root cause analysis and issue resolution
- Project management or project consulting
- Designing, Reliability, or Aeronautics Technical Activities
- Skilled in utilizing Microsoft Office products - Word, PowerPoint, and Excel proficiency required
- Autonomous thinker that dares to challenge the status quo, provoke thought, initiate debate, and be decisive, even in ambiguous conditions
- Ability to lead moderate-level projects related to Six Sigma/Lean
- Ability to develop plans and schedules for projects, identifying key stakeholders and executing projects with minimal support
- Ability to visualize, articulate, and communicate complex initiatives, issues, ideas, etc., into compact, easily understood updates and/or presentations
- Ability to participate in cross-functional initiatives and ensure Tech Operations targets and impacts are clear
- Ability to rapidly recognize and clearly define complex issues to methodically investigate and gauge options to propose solutions
- Ability to identify and apply relevant FAA regulations including AC 120-17B Maintenance Control by Reliability Methods, AC120-16G Air Transporter Maintenance Programs, 14 CFR 121.373 Continuing Inspection and Observation, 14 CFR 121.374 (h) MSG-3 based Airplanes Maintenance Programs, and FAA Assessor's Handbook
- Broad knowledge of IP44 strategies of developing and advancing planned maintenance programs
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge range of skills of SQL, Scene, and Alteryx

This job is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Grounds in Dallas, TX, which expects Representatives to work at an Organization office at least three days a week. The Division assigns the specific three days of the week Representatives should work on site.
