Job Summary

The Associate Sales Analytics Consultant plays a vital role in supporting our Purpose: Connecting People to what's vital in their lives through friendly, reliable, and low-cost air travel. This position involves analyzing internal and external travel data from our Southwest Business Customers to build actionable insights for our Southwest Business Account Managers, Customer Success Consultants, and Corporate Travel Managers. The successful candidate will be a professional communicator and strategic thinker who looks forward to exploring opportunities for Southwest Business.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver customer insights and opportunities through internal and customer data and Account Manager insights leveraged throughout the sales cycle to achieve sales targets.
• Work seamlessly with Account Managers and the Customer Success Team to provide sales-focused account strategies, tactics, agreement proposals, and effective presentations.
• Actively participate in customer meetings to identify and understand customer needs, present agreement proposals, and collaborate on opportunities and targets.
• Transform raw data into easily understandable, presentable, and actionable findings to identify opportunities and ensure performance, sharing them with Senior Leaders, sales team partners, Customers, and others.
• Use technical skills (SQL, Alteryx, etc.) and industry expertise to provide solutions to business requests and proactively identify new opportunities.
• Provide studies and analysis of trends, and the development of new processes, tools, and reports to assist increased sales from corporate accounts and greater efficiency in the sales cycle.
• Communicate effectively with Customers delivering insights, opportunities, QBRs, and RFPs.
• Develop tailored reports that meet business requirements and provide financial analysis to support corporate sales operational and Customer activities.
• Engage in the development, improvement, and quality control of data sets through conversations with internal and external partners.
• Utilize suitable data management strategies, including privacy requirements.
• May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of mathematics, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, economics, and their applications.
• Knowledge of the concepts and methods for transporting People or items by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits.
• Knowledge of the concepts and methods for displaying, promoting, and selling services or products during the sales process.
• Skilled in identifying, collecting, organizing, visualizing, and assimilating information, which may include turning raw data into meaningful facts using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software.
• Use of SQL to manage data and draw insights from large datasets.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel.
• Skilled in understanding the consequences of new data for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
• Skilled in using good judgment and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
• Ability to clearly articulate complex subjects and distilled insights to various audiences, bridging the gap between data and stakeholders.
• Ability to listen, understand, and communicate thoughts through writing, speaking with others, or presenting to a group.
• Ability to think independently, work autonomously, handle ambiguity, and pivot quickly to resolve difficult problems.
• Ability to combine portions of data to form general regulations or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
• Ability to independently transform raw data into clear and actionable insights, clearly communicate and influence others, execute strategies, and adapt for performance across various entities (companies, customers, industries, etc.).

Education and Experience

Education:

• Required: High School Diploma or GED.

Experience:

• Intermediate-level experience, professional and specialized expertise in:
• Sales analysis and the transportation industry.
• Solving ambiguous problems and creating a clear movement plan.
• Working with large datasets.
• Independently translating raw data into actionable insights.
• Influencing stakeholders to drive change.

• Ability to perform work obligations from a limited space work station/desk/office area for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to communicate and engage with others within the English language to satisfy the needs of the job.
• Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient pace and accuracy to meet the needs of the job.
