Job Summary
We're seeking a highly skilled Research Analyst to join our Operations team. As a Research Analyst, you'll play a critical role in making assessments, evaluating information, and drawing conclusions to ensure compliance and identify trends. You'll work closely with multiple stakeholders to achieve optimal results, and your primary responsibilities will include record keeping, report generation, and gathering domestic and international assignment information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on cases prior to adjudication by gathering information from various sources, including petitions, applications, supporting documents, the internet, telephone calls, government, commercial, and open-source databases
- Evaluate data sets and interpret the relevance of data gathered, including numerical statistics, legal documents, and open-source material
- Perform analyses on research conducted and information received from various locations to identify possible fraudulent activity related to cases
- Ensure the integrity of recordkeeping systems and the veracity of data collected prior to entering the data into the record keeping systems
- Write reports in a clear and concise manner that summarize the information gathered and identified during research
- Coordinate and network with agency personnel, other government agencies, and coworkers to facilitate information sharing on cases that involve fraud or potential criminal activity
- Handle Law Enforcement Sensitive (LES) information appropriately
- Perform analyses on petitions being returned to identify trends that may be useful in future research
- Maintain a working knowledge of a variety of resources related to eligibility requirements
- Make phone calls to collect information on a personalized basis and create reports based on the information provided
- Evaluate the case at hand, analyze specific and adapted questions that need to be asked, and communicate in an unscripted manner
Requirements and Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and experience with research and/or reporting
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing
- Report preparation and document analysis to establish authenticity and for evaluation against government standards
- Ability to establish and maintain effective communications with peers and with government officials
- Ability to use databases to obtain and validate information
- Ability to comprehend government regulations
- Ability to conduct telephonic interviews to obtain and/or validate petitions
- Ability to analyze and evaluate data and interview responses to prepare concise reports and records of findings
- Ability to accept feedback
- Ability to think flexibly (open-mindedness with no absolutes) and think outside of the box
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite of products
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with government agencies or in a similar field
- Familiarity with federal security clearance processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Work Environment and Physical Demands
This is a work-from-home flexible position with daytime hours, and occasional on-site requirements for training, meetings, or to resolve badge issues. The successful candidate must live within 90 miles of Portsmouth, NH, and be a U.S. citizen. Additionally, the candidate must be able to obtain a Secret-level federal security clearance and successfully complete a credit and criminal background check.
