Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and skilled CoreOS Build & Integration Engineering Manager to oversee the build and verification process of the Kernel and related components for all Apple OS releases. As a remote position, you will work as part of an agile team to shorten the feedback cycle for internal customers, driving operational excellence for builds of Apple software. Your primary focus will be on leading a team of build engineers to deliver innovative solutions, tools, and day-to-day operations, while fostering an inclusive work environment that values diverse perspectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of build engineers to set the standard for software development, delivering new solutions and tools, as well as managing day-to-day operations
- Develop the team to respond to incidents, escalate issues, and run retrospectives to ensure continuous improvement
- Monitor metrics, report trends, and innovate on operational workflows to drive efficiency and effectiveness
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Apple on complex integration efforts, ensuring seamless communication and coordination
- Hire, inspire, coach, train, and develop engineers to take on new responsibilities in integrating software systems
- Lead discussions and drive efforts to enhance the reliability and scale of production build operations, ensuring high-quality outputs
- Work with project management teams to determine engineering priorities and resource engineering efforts, aligning with business objectives
- Engage partners in planning compute, storage, and headcount for operational support, ensuring adequate resources for success
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Strong software development skills and experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) standard methodologies
- Proficiency with Git and other version control systems, ensuring efficient collaboration and version management
- Strong experience with crafting, running, and solving problems in native builds (Objective-C, C++), with a solid understanding of compilation
- Proven experience leading cross-functional efforts around systems architecture, software development, operational processes, and product features
