The History department at SJSU is a dynamic and diverse community of scholars, offering courses that cover most of the world and all periods of time. We have nine full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty and ten part-time or full-time lecturers. Our department is committed to providing high-quality education to nearly 300 undergraduate and graduate History majors, as well as hundreds more undergraduate students enrolled in History survey courses.
We are seeking a qualified lecturer to teach and supervise SSED 184Z: Phase II Student Teaching, a 4-unit graduate course offered through the History Department and the College of Education/Teacher Education Department. This course fulfills the Phase II Student Teaching requirement to earn a CA teaching credential. The ideal candidate will have culturally diverse teaching experience, a strong commitment to the academic success of all students, and the ability to teach, observe, and evaluate single subject secondary education student teachers in their field placements.
