Job Description:
We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our Revenue Accounting and Systems team at Starbucks. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely completion of complex accounting functions, driving process improvements, and providing exceptional support to our global business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare revenue-related month-end P&L analytics for individual business units, collaborating closely with finance and local market teams to support month-end reporting.
- Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations for individual business units, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and applicable accounting regulations.
- Review and monitor automated journal entries and reconciling accounts for reasonableness and accuracy, evaluating manual processes and recommending automation opportunities.
- Perform daily and weekly reconciliations and reviews of sales transactions to bank deposits, providing cross-functional accounting consultation on various ad-hoc projects and new initiatives.
- Recommend and implement ideas and innovations to improve existing systems, processes, and procedures affecting month-end and quarter-end financial close, account analysis preparation, and financial reporting.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
- 2+ years of experience in accounting at a professional level, including journal entries, account reconciliation, reporting, and analysis (or equivalent experience).
- Attention to detail, with a drive to implement process improvements and controls.
- Intermediate-level problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate financial results to individuals at various levels of the organization in a clear and concise manner.
