FanDuel Sports Network is the nation’s largest provider of live local sports, producing and delivering over 3,000 live games and events every year. The Inventory Analyst, Ad Sales plays a critical role in maximizing the value of commercial inventory across live broadcasts and shoulder programming, ensuring accurate forecasting and strategic monetization across both linear and digital platforms.
Responsibilities
- Track, analyze, and forecast advertising inventory across live sports broadcasts (MLB, NBA, NHL) and original programming across all RSNs
- Partner with Sales, Planning, and Programming teams to align inventory availability with content schedules and sales strategy
- Monitor sell-through rates, preemptions, and under/over-sold areas to support revenue maximization
- Identify revenue opportunities in shoulder programming, pre/post-game shows, and special events
- Support pricing strategies by providing data-driven insights on inventory demand, ratings performance, and market trends
- Maintain inventory management systems and dashboards (e.g., WideOrbit, Excel, Power BI) to ensure real-time accuracy
- Collaborate with the linear and digital ad ops teams to coordinate inventory across cable and streaming platforms
- Provide regular reporting and post-campaign analysis to internal stakeholders and leadership
- Stay informed on programming changes, league schedules, and playoff scenarios that may impact inventory
Skills
- Proficiency in ad sales systems such as WideOrbit, Operative One, or similar tools
- Strong analytical and Excel skills (pivot tables, x-lookups, modeling)
- Familiarity with live sports schedules, seasonality, and local broadcast considerations
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment with live event pressure
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- A passion for local sports and fan-first media experiences
- Knowledge of ratings systems (e.g., Nielsen) and performance measurement tools
