Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Mental Health Medical Biller to join our remote team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for reviewing and processing mental health patient claims, verifying insurance coverage, and communicating with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers.
Responsibilities:
- Review and process mental health patient claims for accuracy and compliance with insurance guidelines
- Verify patient insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for treatment
- Submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on outstanding accounts
- Resolve billing discrepancies in a prompt manner
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient billing records
- Communicate with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers to ensure timely payment of claims
- Stay current on changes in mental health billing regulations and guidelines
- Stay current on replying to emails from insurance companies and therapists
Qualifications:
- Associate or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, preferably in a mental health setting
- Knowledge of mental health billing codes (CPT, ICD-10) and insurance guidelines
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in medical billing software and Microsoft Office applications
