About Our Specialty Mail Service Pharmacy
Our Specialty Mail Service Pharmacy is at the forefront of providing complex and innovative therapies to patients with chronic and rare conditions. As a Pharmacist in this role, you'll play a critical part in ensuring the accurate delivery of pharmaceutical care services, including drug therapy monitoring, patient education, and disease state management. You'll work closely with healthcare professionals and patients to optimize treatment outcomes and improve the overall quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare professionals, addressing their concerns and queries in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure the accurate delivery of pharmaceutical care services, including verifying patient information, reviewing medication orders, and counseling patients on medication use.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize treatment outcomes, including monitoring patient response to therapy and making recommendations for adjustments as needed.
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of specialty therapies, including intravenous immunoglobulin, pulmonary arterial hypertension, and other complex conditions.
- Provide leadership and guidance to supporting staff, including training and mentoring on pharmacy operations and patient care.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments, including new therapies, treatment guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A Pharmacy degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
- Active licensure as a practicing Pharmacist in the State of Illinois.
- A minimum of one year of work experience with Windows-based applications, including Microsoft Office, internet navigation, and email applications.
- Willingness to train and/or transition to new therapies, including intravenous immunoglobulin and pulmonary arterial hypertension, as business needs require.
- Residency in the State of Illinois.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will be considered a plus:
- Healthcare work experience and familiarity with benefits, insurance, and prescriptions.
- Licenses in multiple states or the ability to obtain.
- One year of Specialty Pharmacy experience.
- Six months of experience in a Specialty setting with therapies such as infertility, oncology, hepatitis, HIV, women's health, autoimmune, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, multiple sclerosis, neutropenia, anemia, growth hormone, organ transplant, CMV prophylaxis, narcolepsy, and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
