About the Role
We're seeking a highly technical and experienced Software Quality Engineer to drive the quality assurance efforts for our critical customer-facing applications. As a Software Quality Engineer on our team, you'll have the opportunity to work on complex projects, develop innovative testing solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products. This 100% remote role offers the flexibility to work from anywhere, while still being an integral part of our dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement quality assurance automation testing for critical customer-facing applications, ensuring the highest level of quality and reliability.
- Create and maintain test plans, test cases, and automation tools to reduce regression test cycles and improve overall quality.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to develop test plans, execute test cases, and deliver high-quality products.
- Implement and integrate automation testing frameworks with existing processes and infrastructure.
- Identify gaps or inefficiencies in workflows and suggest vital process improvements.
- Provide timely and accurate testing status and progress to Project Managers during all testing phases.
- Work in an Agile environment, adapting to changing priorities and requirements.
- Utilize your expertise in programming languages such as Java, Python, and JavaScript to develop automation testing tools and frameworks.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need to possess a strong foundation in software quality assurance and automation testing. The ideal candidate will have:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in QA automation and testing for web applications, with a proven track record of detecting and writing bug reports.
- Hands-on experience with Core Java, and proficiency in at least one of the following: Karate, RestAssured, Playwright/Selenium, Appium/XCUI.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, ReactJS, and NodeJS.
- Experience with testing API/web services and web applications.
- A strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge:
- Previous experience supporting e-commerce platforms or retail/payment systems.
- Familiarity with Project Management principles, including Agile methodology and D2P (Development to Production) processes.
- Experience with data visualization and analysis tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Ability to simplify and present complex technical issues in a clear, concise manner.
- Experience with testing AI/ML applications, security, and accessibility testing.
- Experience with Maven/Gradle and Git repositories.
- A BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
- Expertise in building and maintaining test beds, test environments, and automated data-driven test suites.
- Solid understanding of software build tools, CI/CD integrations, deployment processes, and code quality checking tools.
