Job Overview
We're seeking an experienced and skilled Customer Service Representative to join our team at blithequark. As a key member of our Payments and Digital Strategy crew, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional support to our customers, resolving issues, and delivering outstanding service. This is a remote job opportunity, offering you the flexibility to work from the comfort of your own home and enjoy a better work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete data access and balancing functions to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Coordinate return items with contributors, vendors, the Federal Reserve Bank, and other institutions
- Assist different departments with fraud resolution, member inquiries, and related Accounting standard ledger balancing
- Work member cases/sports assigned and follow up with customers to ensure issues are resolved
- Follow and maintain guidelines and procedures to ensure strict compliance with NACHA regulations and guidelines and Federal Banking laws
- Process loan payments, multi-account and member deposits, credit card payments, and other checks, including IRA, bankruptcy, and payoff checks
- Review, examine, and approve Remote Deposit, Mobile, ATM, and other imaged-enabled products
- Log, research, and make necessary GL, account changes and/or returns
- Process Stop Pays and Check Batching
- Complete daily balancing and department closing
- Obtain information from contributors for the timely and accurate processing of international and domestic fund transfer requests
- Research and confirm incoming and outgoing fund transfer information
- Communicate with vendors to process fund transfers
- Understand and be familiar with outgoing and incoming fund transfer laws
- Deposit check returns, research member back checks on draft changes, process member checks, confirm contributors for outgoing fund transfers, and Federal Reserve verifying and releasing fund transfers
- Complete daily processing of workflows associated with late returns, supply of receipts, foreign collections, and legal fees
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- High school diploma or GED
- Intermediate Excel and Word experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple responsibilities
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Previous customer/member service experience
- Previous banking or Credit Union experience
- Episys/Symitar and processing wires experience
- Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
