Job Overview
The Part-Time Statistics Analyst I position is an integral part of blithequark's Details and Data Gathering team. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for guaranteeing the accuracy of sports data on various blithequark platforms, including television graphics, the Bottom Line, blithequark.com, Fantasy, and GameCast. Your work will involve working with automated data feeds and utilizing manual data entry to ensure the delivery of precise, timely, and intelligent sports information.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure sports data disseminated by Details and Data is accurate, timely, and insightful.
- Work in individual settings and in groups to deliver accurate detailed analysis, clock-and-score, and other metrics and data in real-time that power numerous blithequark products and productions.
- Create and maintain an active knowledge base on Details and Data's role in fueling blithequark digital products and television productions.
- Review the results of one's own work and that of others; perform with a consistently high level of attention to detail.
- Contribute to production, operations, and initiatives across the newsroom, and assist newsroom leaders who are coordinating full- and part-time staff.
- Anticipate potential issues, both daily and long-term, and offer possible solutions. Communicate promptly and clearly with colleagues on these issues.
- Play a proactive role in collaborating with colleagues in developing or refining production processes.
- Be an active participant in team and department meetings.
- Seek and respond to feedback regarding individual performance.
- Stay informed about current office policies and procedures.
Essential Qualifications
To excel in this role, you will need:
- A working knowledge of teams, players, and the rules of the games.
- Full schedule availability, which will include evenings (exclusively), weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to quickly learn production processes that produce or maintain sports data that drives blithequark's digital and television products.
- Capacity to achieve a high level of content accuracy in time-sensitive production environments.
- Ability to communicate confidently – verbally and in writing – to production managers and colleagues about production issues and opportunities, often through the noise of a busy newsroom.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- 1+ years of experience working in sports or statistics, ideally in media.
- Knowledge of how sports data is used in media and for research purposes.
- Working knowledge of blithequark products and productions.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Office products.

- Ability to speak and write Spanish.

Education Requirements
