Job Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced Radiology Technologist to join our Diagnostic Radiology team on a part-time basis, working evening shifts. As a Radiology Technologist at Corewell Health, you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, utilizing your skills and expertise to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients. You will be responsible for performing accurate and efficient diagnostic exams, providing exceptional patient care, and working collaboratively with our team of healthcare professionals to deliver outstanding outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform quality diagnostic exams after verification of patient identification and physician order
- Acquire an accurate patient history and document in the medical record
- Monitor patients during procedures to ensure patient safety
- Perform radiographic and related patient care procedures using age-appropriate methods for patient's physical ability and/or limitations
- Ensure STAT requests are relayed to radiologist in a timely manner
- Effectively communicate on an inter/intra-department level with customer service, administrative, medical staff, and peers
- Demonstrate ability to proficiently operate diagnostic imaging equipment and follow policy for any malfunctions or quality control failures
- Utilize ALARA standards for minimizing radiation exposure to patient, staff, and self
- Provide procedural information/education to the patient/family prior to each exam
- Contribute to the effective operations of the department by assisting fellow employees and staying in compliance with quality assurance and quality control
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- Graduate of Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) Accredited Radiography program
- Must be registered within 6 months of hire date
- Basic Life Support Certification for Healthcare Providers from The American Heart Association and/or The American Red Cross at hire
- Certification by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; Must remain in good standing with the ARRT
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Previous experience working in a diagnostic imaging environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Proficiency in hospital computer systems and diagnostic imaging equipment
