Position Overview

The Logistics Coordinator is a critical operations position within our BPO portfolio, dedicated to providing tactical management of customer transportation within a specific work group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the customer's supply chain operation from beginning to end, ensuring the highest levels of service at the lowest landed cost. Your expertise will be essential in building and planning loads, selecting and routing tenders to carriers, and managing appointment scheduling requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide logistics services for customers from beginning to end of the supply chain operation, including understanding customer business requirements, building and planning loads, and managing appointment scheduling requirements.
• Select and route tenders to carriers defined by routing guides, ensuring coverage for all loads ahead of relevant milestones.
• Track execution of loads against relevant milestones, identifying risks to successful delivery and offering solutions or recommendations to mitigate these risks.
• Proactively interact with chosen carriers to ensure unimpeded transportation processes for customers, minimizing delays and ensuring timely delivery.
• Review, assess, and make decisions to execute accessorial charge requests for approval or denial within an obligatory payment window, ensuring compliance with customer-specific SOPs.
• Approve, deny, and/or reconcile costs relative to specific shipments, analyzing service and cost implications to inform critical decisions.
• Troubleshoot, recommend, and implement solutions for customers, ensuring the highest levels of service and minimizing costs.
• Analyze market conditions and effectively negotiate transactional load costs, staying within tolerance to market variance and customer budgeted cost per unit.
• Proactively monitor status and recommend steps for improvement of KPIs, including on-time performance, tender acceptance, and routing guide compliance.
• Develop and maintain successful relationships as a trusted advisor at all levels of the customer organization, participating in on-call/after-hours support via phone rotation and holiday coverage plans as required.

Qualifications and Experiences

To succeed in this role, you will need a strong educational foundation and relevant experience in supply chain management or a related field. A Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field is preferred, or 2+ years of relevant and equivalent experience. You should have experience with supply chain software, such as E2open's portfolio suite, JDA, SAP, Oracle, Mercury Gate, or Pinc, and be familiar with transportation across all modes, HOS regulations, and equipment constraints.

Essential Skills and Competencies

• Advanced computer skills, including full proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Customer-facing and/or supplier management experience is highly preferred, with great interpersonal skills and the ability to influence others without role power.
• Proven problem-solving ability, with the capacity to analyze large data sets and present recommendations.
• Ability to read and interpret industry documentation, with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
