Job Summary
We're seeking a full-time or part-time Liquor Store Clerk to join our team on a year-round basis. As a Liquor Store Clerk, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a high level of product knowledge, and contributing to the overall success of our store. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner
- Maintain a high level of product knowledge, including wine, beer, and spirits, and make recommendations to customers
- Process transactions, handle cash, and operate a point-of-sale system
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including stocking shelves and facing products
- Work effectively as part of a team to achieve sales goals and store objectives
- Participate in ongoing training and education to stay up-to-date on products and industry trends
Requirements:
Essential Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1-2 years of experience in a retail or customer service environment (experience in the liquor industry is a plus)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in the liquor industry
- Knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits
- Certifications or training in wine, beer, or spirits (e.g. WSET, Cicerone)
- Experience with inventory management and stock control
