About the Role and Team
In this role, you will be responsible for the daily implementation of the Non-Disney themed product category for Softlines, managing product strategy at the department, class, and sub-class levels. You will be consumer-obsessed, constantly balancing the art and science of merchandising to find opportunities and drive business growth. As a key member of our merchandising team, you will report to the Sr Manager, Merchandising, and work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve our business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement product strategies to drive sales growth and profitability for the Non-Disney themed category
- Manage vendor relationships and sourcing for the categories, ensuring high-quality products and competitive pricing
- Monitor and report on themed business performance, identifying opportunities and challenges
- Track development counts, COGs, and profitability targets, ensuring data integrity in systems and samples
- Provide support for key achievement meetings, developing presentation decks, briefs, recaps, and assembling input from key partners
- Attend cross-functional team meetings to assist with communication and input/output
- Manage and update line lists or assortment plans for each location, preparing and maintaining catalogs of merchandise by quarter
- Establish perspectives on what's working and why, consistently improving product lines and driving business results
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 2+ years of experience in Product Merchandising or Brand Management, with a focus on Softlines
- Demonstrated ability to build a product line for a category or categories of business, with a strong understanding of the omni-channel marketplace
- Strategic problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive execution against a plan and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and foster collaborative partnerships across functions and departments
- Flexibility and adaptability, with a demonstrated ability to work under pressure while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Solid organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple projects concurrently
- High level of attention to detail, with proactive and strong follow-through skills
