About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our team in Lincoln Park, NJ. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on teaching experience on your own schedule. We offer competitive pay rates, with up to $190 for day-to-day assignments and more for long-term assignments. Our goal is to provide you with the tools and support you need to excel in the classroom and make a positive impact on the lives of your students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach a variety of subjects, including math, science, English, and social studies, to students of different ages and skill levels
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the needs of your students
- Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
- Be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced educational setting
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching skills and knowledge
Essential Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- An Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits
- Three professional references, with at least one from a previous direct supervisor
- A NJ Substitute Credential
- A background check and TB risk assessment (we will cover the cost of this)
- Full COVID-19 vaccination
- A passion for education and a commitment to putting students first
- An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be
Preferred Qualifications:
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Previous teaching experience, particularly in a substitute or long-term capacity
- Special education experience or training
- Bilingual or multilingual skills
- Experience working with students of different ages and skill levels
- A strong understanding of curriculum development and implementation
