TRAVEL INSURANCE CLAIMS ADJUSTER 1099, INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR We are seeking a dedicated Travel Insurance Claims Adjuster to process claims, which include adjudication of Trip Cancellation claims, Travel Medical, and Post Departure benefits. We prefer candidates with at least 1 year of experience in insurance claims and who are comfortable communicating with various agencies, including travel suppliers, travel agencies, medical professionals, and other insurance carriers. Responsibilities: · Analytical & Investigative: Ability to gather and analyze evidence, such as police reports, medical records, and witness statements, to determine liability and coverage. · Ensure compliance guidelines are met. · Research and verify insurance policy coverage. · Fraud Detection: Identifying and investigating suspicious or fraudulent claims. · Document all findings in a clear claims report and present claims to insurance companies (trip cancellations, flight delays, and lost luggage). · Ability to communicate claim decisions with insureds, including both issued payments and claim denials, and provide explanations related to policy coverage by citing plan language. · Ability to draft decision letters, ensuring accurate citation of policy language and error-free grammar. · Willing to learn and grow with our team. · Work independently and collaboratively in a virtual team setting. · Follow standard operating procedures and service level agreements with our clients. · Work under general supervision, reporting to a Team Lead and Manager. · Communicate through verbal and written means with policyholders, travel agents, and suppliers. · Respond to calls from contacts such as policyholders, travel agents, and suppliers. · Take ownership of claim decisions. · Be reliable with attendance, punctuality, and excellent time management skills.   Qualifications: · Education: A high school diploma is the minimum requirement, or an associate or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field. · State Licensing: P&C Claims Adjuster License. For those handling claims across the U.S., having reciprocal licenses in multiple jurisdictions is often required. · Certifications: Professional designations like Associate in Claims (AIC) or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) are frequently listed as preferred qualifications. · Travel insurance experience is preferred but not required. · Ability to navigate computer operating systems, Google Chrome, and related applications. · Experience working in a production environment with the ability to focus, work independently, and meet quotas. · Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a virtual environment. · Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams). · Excellent oral and written communication skills. · Strong mathematical and problem-solving abilities. · Ability to pass a background check. · Availability to work on weekends.   Special Requirements: Must possess an up-to-date laptop, headset, and additional monitor.
