We are launching a design-led furniture brand in Australia and require an experienced eCommerce accounting systems specialist to assist to design and implement the correct architecture between Shopify, Xero, and A2X.
This is not a basic bookkeeping role. We require someone who understands inventory structure, landed cost allocation, GST treatment, clearing accounts, and multi-location fulfilment models.
Business Model Overview:
Australian company (Gold Coast-based warehouse)
Shopify storefront
Xero for accounting
Possibly A2X for Shopify → Xero integration (not yet configured)
Physical stock held in Australia
Additional supplier-controlled offshore warehouse (buffer stock, shipped weekly in containers)
Imported goods (freight, duty, FX exposure)
Moderate SKU count, higher-value items
Scope of Work:

Shopify & A2X (possibly) & Xero
Advise on inventory structure and specifically integration between Shopify and Xero:
Tracked inventory in Xero
Shopify stock management
Multi-location handling (AU vs Offshore buffer)
Deliverables:
Systems architecture diagram
A2X mapping configuration - if A2X is appropriate
Inventory workflow process
60–90 minute walkthrough call initially with likelihood of further retainer/advice
Requirements:
Demonstrated experience with Shopify + Xero + A2X
Experience with Australian GST preferred
Strong understanding of inventory-based businesses (not service businesses)
Clear communication and structured thinking
Engagement Structure:
Initial consulting engagement (fixed price or hourly).
Potential ongoing advisory support if a good fit.
