Purpose and Scope of the Seasonal Part-Time Customer Service Representative Role
As a Seasonal Part-Time Customer Service Representative at blithequark, you'll play a vital role in receiving, investigating, and responding to member inquiries, resolving member problems and/or complaints in a timely and accurate manner. This 100% remote opportunity allows you to work from the comfort of your own space while making a meaningful impact on our clients and their members.
Job Specifics
- Schedule: 20 hours total, with two 8-hour shifts on Saturdays and Sundays (8:00 AM to 4:30 PM EST and 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM EST) and an additional 4-hour shift during peak business hours.
- Duration: October 2024 through January 2025.
- Time Off: No long-term planned time off during the assignment.
This role requires availability on weekends and adherence to the specified schedule and training period. As a Seasonal Part-Time Customer Service Representative, you'll be an integral part of our team, working collaboratively with colleagues and clients to drive exceptional customer experiences.
Principal Responsibilities and Duties
- Answers and tracks telephone calls within established department standards.
- Tracks all existing member calls within the IKA database, ensuring concise and factual documentation.
- Develops a thorough understanding of all lines of business benefits, medical management processes, demographic change processes, and processes for changing Primary Care Physicians (PCP).
- Responds to "entry-level" claims inquiries and takes "Over the Counter" (OTC) orders for products and diabetic supplies.
- Processes "entry-level" enrollment and disenrollment procedures and enters prospective members into our software database.
- Maintains current source documents and reference documents, interacting professionally with employees, customers, and suppliers.
- Works effectively as a team contributor, redirecting calls to the appropriate department as needed.
Customer Service Excellence
- Drives the blithequark culture through values and customer service standards.
- Provides outstanding customer service to external and internal contacts, developing and maintaining positive relationships through effective and timely communication.
- Takes initiative to respond, resolve, and follow up on customer service issues in a timely manner.
Education, Experience, and Required Skills
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- The ability to read and interpret documents, calculate figures and amounts, and possess strong typing skills (40-60 WPM).
- Excellent customer service skills, with a friendly, courteous, and helpful demeanor.
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED), with a minimum of six months to one-year related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Proficient MS Office skills, including basic computer and keyboarding skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with good grammar, voice, and diction.
- The ability to manage customer questions and issues while maintaining a high level of professionalism, providing thoughtful and prompt resolutions with empathy and poise.
- A self-driven attitude with a positive outlook, confidence, tact, patience, and diplomacy when dealing with customers.
