RemoteHunter is a fast-growing fintech organization seeking a Finance Specialist with expertise in Accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). This hybrid role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records and supporting budgeting and forecasting processes while collaborating across teams for timely financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Assist with general ledger maintenance to ensure accurate and timely transaction recording
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial schedules
- Assist in the preparation of US GAAP-compliant financial statements, footnotes, and supporting schedules
- Perform recurring accounting activities such as account reconciliations and transaction reviews
- Support accounts payable processes ensuring accuracy and adherence to policies
- Prepare and maintain documentation for external audits, including schedules and reconciliations
- Contribute to the development and improvement of accounting policies, internal controls, and automation initiatives
- Help update and maintain the financial model to support forecasting and budgeting
- Support preparation of monthly financial reporting packages and dashboards for leadership
- Act as a cross-functional business partner to build models supporting ad-hoc strategic initiatives
- Assist with routine variance analysis to identify and explain performance against plan and prior periods
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with strong accounting coursework
- 1-3 years of experience in public accounting (Big 4 or national firm preferred) and/or corporate finance and accounting roles
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, and nested formulas
- Comfortable working across both accounting and FP&A functions
- Good understanding of US GAAP and internal control principles
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, both written and verbal
- Experience with accounting software, preferably NetSuite
- Enthusiasm for process improvement, automation, and emerging technologies including AI
