Physician Peer Reviewer - Veterans Affairs - Remote
Job Responsibilities: Review Cases: Board-certified physicians in similar specialties review redacted medical records for cases flagged by initial nurse screens.
Evaluate Care: They assess the quality, necessity, and appropriateness of treatment, comparing it to expected standards of care.
Provide Feedback: Reviewers write summaries with findings, suggestions, or recommendations for improvement.
Identify Learning Opportunities: The process aims to find ways for providers to improve their clinical practice.
Adhere to Standards: Reviews are conducted to ensure care meets or exceeds standards set by the VA and organizations like the National Quality Forum (NQF)
Qualifications: Board certified
Active, unrestricted physician license
5 years of experience practicing medicine
Working Hours: Board meeting are once a month. The day and time are sent well in advance. These meetings can be done anywhere with internet.
