About Us
The WebstaurantStore is a fast-paced and growing company that's dedicated to meeting the purchasing needs of the food service industry. Our Outbound Transportation Team is a key part of our Logistics Department, and we're looking for talented and ambitious interns to join our team for the Summer of 2025. Key Responsibilities
As an Outbound Logistics Summer Intern, you'll play a critical role in supporting our Outbound Transportation Team and contributing to the success of our company. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Establishing new systems and processes to track, measure, report, and analyze outbound transportation practices
- Identifying cost optimization opportunities through data analysis
- Making and executing decisions regarding delivery needs of customer orders
- Managing relationships with transportation providers, vendors, Customer Service, and others to resolve shipping issues
- Monitoring key department metrics, including profitability, to identify opportunities for team improvement
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure fast processing of orders
- Evaluating current processes and suggesting improvements to increase efficiency and enhance the customer experience
- Investigating processing and customer problems and providing strategic solutions
- Completing special projects as assigned
- Presenting your projects, contributions, and feedback at the end of the program
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must be:
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program (any major welcome)
- Detail-oriented and able to leverage data to support proposed solutions
- Willing to independently take initiative and ownership of problems to find solutions
- Able to flourish in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Able to balance desired business and customer outcomes
- A team player who wants to contribute to a thriving culture
- Adept at communicating effectively to a variety of audiences
- Able to provide feedback on team/company processes and projects
- Able to prioritize and balance multiple responsibilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Previous experience in logistics or a related field
- Knowledge of transportation management systems and logistics operations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
