Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging music lesson plans for students in grades K-5, aligning with state and national standards.
- Create a supportive and inclusive online learning environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for music.
- Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and adjust instruction to meet individual needs.
- Collaborate with other educators and support staff to ensure a comprehensive educational experience.
- Utilize technology to enhance instruction, including digital tools and multimedia resources.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues through regular updates and progress reports.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in music education and online teaching.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Music Education or a related field.
- Minnesota Teacher License: Elementary Music (or the ability to obtain by August 29, 2023).
- Experience in teaching music to students in grades K-5, preferably in an online or virtual setting.
- Strong knowledge of music theory, pedagogy, and curriculum design.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced online environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Music Education or a related field.
- Experience with online teaching platforms and digital tools.
- Familiarity with project-based learning and competency-based education.
- Experience working with diverse student populations, including English language learners and students with special needs.
