Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced In-Person Test Prep Tutor to join our team in Illinois. As a tutor with Applerouth, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' lives, helping them achieve their academic goals and build confidence in their abilities. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one, in-home test prep tutoring to students in the Chicago metro area (Chicago, Evanston, Winnetka, Glenview, Highland Park)
- Develop and implement personalized learning plans to help students achieve their goals
- Utilize extensive knowledge of the SAT and ACT, as well as pedagogical strategies, to tutor students effectively
- Participate in paid training and regular supplemental training to stay up-to-date on changes to tests and pedagogy
- Maintain open communication with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment
Requirements:
- Empathy, creativity, strong communication skills, and a desire to help others
- Reliable transportation and high-speed internet
- Prior tutoring or teaching experience is a plus
- SAT, ACT, or other standardized test scores
- At least one year of college
- Access to reliable transportation (many sessions will take place in students' homes or a mutually amenable location)
