The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is seeking an IT Applications Developer – MMIS to play a key role in developing and supporting the mainframe systems that power critical Medicaid services. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented developer with COBOL expertise who enjoys solving complex production issues and enhancing system performance.
Responsibilities
- Write, debug, document, and test COBOL/DB2/CICS programs in a mainframe environment
- Analyze and resolve production issues
- Create detailed system design documents for system enhancement projects
- Assist senior application developers in large, complex development projects
- Maintain technical documentation
Skills
- Experience, education, or training in coding computer applications
- Associate's degree in computer programming or similar area
- Experience developing and testing COBOL programs
- Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases
- Experience with JCL and CICS
- Experience with the software development lifecycle
