JLW Immigration Law Group in Austin, Texas is looking for an experienced Spanish-speaking Immigration Attorney who can curse bilingually with 3+ years of deportation defense and humanitarian relief experience to join a supportive firm that is at times informal, yes, but also maintains the highest ethical and professional standards.

JLW is led by veteran attorneys and is well-established, but due to recent restructuring, the practice feels like an early-stage startup. Ambitious team members will have the opportunity to help build a significant immigration law practice in Central Texas.
You are comfortable with change, continuous improvement, and building systems as you go. And the occasional bad language.
Key info about the role:
• Salary Range: $130K/year to $150K/year, depending on experience and demonstrated value, plus bonus structure based on hitting goals and targets.
• Growth + Professional Development: For the right candidate, non-equity partnership can become available in 3-5 years; equity partnership may become available 1-2 years after that. You’ll work directly with the owner, who is a trained coach and dedicated to the personal and professional development of her team.
• Work Location: Hybrid role in Austin or 100% remote in San Antonio metro area. Must be able to attend regular court dates and USCIS appointments in San Antonio.
• Language/J.D./Bar Admission: Fluency/professional proficiency in Spanish is required. Seeking candidates with a J.D. who are licensed to practice in Texas. Must have or be willing to obtain federal district court admission.
• Benefits: 401(k) with matching. Two-pronged health plan (primary care membership + reimbursement for other medical/dental/vision expenses). 6 weeks per year for vacation/PTO/disconnection.
• Realistic Hours: 40-50 hours/week (not the 60-80 some firms demand).
• Start Date: ASAP.
What About the Day-to-Day?
In this role, you’ll manage 150-200 cases with the help of a dedicated team.
You’ll represent clients in immigration court proceedings, bond hearings, and interviews before USCIS and EOIR, and communicate effectively with clients to guide them with empathy through complex processes.
You’ll be focused on removal work but also manage a wide range of immigration applications, including asylum, VAWA, U visas, family petitions, waivers, and adjustment of status, as well as appeals and federal litigation.
Additionally, you’ll help manage team members, stay current on immigration law developments, and contribute to community outreach and attorney marketing.
