**About the Role**
As a Senior Librarian – Adult Services, you will be responsible for leading a team of librarians and staff in the development and implementation of innovative programs and services for adults. This includes:
* Developing and evaluating goals, objectives, policies, and procedures for the Adult Services division
* Selecting, training, evaluating, and managing full-time and part-time staff and volunteers
* Researching, reviewing, evaluating, and selecting materials for addition to or deletion from the library collection
* Recommending collection development policies and resources
* Developing, organizing, implementing, and overseeing programs, events, and services for adults
* Preparing publication/promotion materials, program materials, and social media messages
* Assisting with the development and management of the library system budget
* Researching, reviewing, recommending, and securing additional funding sources, including grants
* Monitoring and overseeing expenditures of areas of assignment
**Ideal Candidate**
We are seeking an experienced and innovative librarian who possesses excellent managerial and customer service skills. The ideal candidate will have:
* A Master's degree in Library Science from an American Library Association accredited college or university
* Three (3) years of experience as a librarian, with supervisory or lead experience highly desirable
* Valid Class C California's Driver's License
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse communities and stakeholders
* Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to set clear expectations and manage staff performance
* Ability to meet deadlines, set priorities, and work independently
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, peers, subordinates, and the public
* Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
