Key Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality, verbatim transcripts for our federal, state, and local clients, meeting or surpassing 98% accuracy
- Work on high-volume transcription projects with a standard turnaround time of 5 to 7 days, with some jobs available at higher rates with shorter turnaround times
- Utilize your strong attention to detail and research capabilities to ensure accuracy and quality in your transcripts
- Demonstrate exceptional listening skills for verbatim transcription and excellent written communication skills, including proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar
- Apply your knowledge of legal formatting requirements, such as Bluebook or other style guides (e.g., GPO, GAO, Chicago, Associated Press)
- Commit to at least 20 physical hours per week, with the flexibility to set your own schedule
Essential Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- Typing speed of at least 70 WPM
- At least 1 year of legal transcription experience
- Ability to ensure all transcripts meet or surpass 98% accuracy, with strong attention to detail and research capabilities
- Exceptional written communication skills and working knowledge of legal formatting requirements
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word 2013 or newer
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working on federal contracts and high-volume transcription projects
- Familiarity with audio software and transcription tools
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
