Key Responsibilities
- Create accurate verbatim transcripts from audio recordings of legal proceedings, maintaining exceptional attention to detail and adhering to client-specific style guides.
- Ensure high-quality and accuracy in all transcripts, utilizing your outstanding literacy skills, including spelling and grammar proficiency.
- Collaborate remotely with our in-office team for guidance when needed, and be proactive in seeking support to ensure seamless delivery of high-quality transcripts.
- Manage your workload effectively, meeting deadlines and delivering transcripts in a timely manner.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Proven experience in court reporting, scoping, or legal transcription, with a strong background in transcribing legal proceedings.
- Excellent listening and comprehension skills, with the ability to handle sensitive audio/text content, which may contain offensive material.
- Strong adherence to deadlines and meticulous attention to detail, with outstanding literacy skills, including spelling and grammar proficiency.
- Typing proficiency with both speed and accuracy, and familiarity with legal terminology is crucial.
- The ability to pass a background check is also required.
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Significant experience transcribing complex legal proceedings, such as depositions and hearings.
- Familiarity with legal terminology and processes, with a strong understanding of the legal industry.
