Key Responsibilities
- Provide onsite and phone support for machinery and products, troubleshooting complex issues and resolving customer complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Complete all administrative paperwork in a timely and accurate manner, including expense reports, timesheets, service and project/product issue findings, and customer experience reports.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Sales, Engineering, and Production, to report field issues, provide customer feedback, and drive product improvement initiatives.
- Assist in training customers on Columbia Industries equipment, developing and delivering presentations, and providing hands-on support to ensure customer satisfaction and product adoption.
- Display excellent communication skills, including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills, working effectively with customers, coworkers, and stakeholders to resolve issues and drive business outcomes.
- Follow all appropriate process documentation procedures, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Maintain safe working conditions while on customer sites, identifying potential hazards and taking corrective action to mitigate risks.
- Oversee field jobs, developing and executing plans to resolve customer issues, and producing written travel expense plans and scope of work documents.
- Work at customer sites, adapting to diverse environments and conditions, and providing flexible support to meet customer needs.
- Support the Mississippi plant when not in the field or traveling, contributing to plant operations and providing technical expertise as needed.
Essential and Preferred Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a field service or technical support role, preferably in the heavy industrial hydraulic products industry.
- An Associate's degree in a relevant field, such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong technical skills, including knowledge of hydraulics, mechanical systems, and electrical systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, coworkers, and stakeholders.
- Experience with field service management software and tools, such as CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) or similar systems.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally, with a valid passport and driver's license.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and develop effective solutions.
