Girls Who Code is a non-profit organization dedicated to closing the gender gap in technology and engineering sectors. We believe that all girls have the interest and ability to code, and our mission is to educate, inspire, and equip high school girls and non-binary students with the skills and resources to pursue academics and careers in these fields. Our Summer Programs are designed to provide a unique and supportive online learning environment, where students can learn about Game Design, Cybersecurity, Web Design, Data Science, and AI, while building bravery and confidence.
We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced Discord Moderators to join our team for the 2025 Summer Programs. As a Discord Moderator, you will play a crucial role in supporting our students, teaching staff, and online community, ensuring that our Discord server is a safe, productive, and engaging space for all members. You will be responsible for moderating discussions, posting announcements and discussion starters, co-facilitating Community Events, and providing support to students and staff throughout the program.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teaching staff, and other moderators. You should be highly organized, able to prioritize tasks, and manage your time efficiently. A strong understanding of online community management and moderation principles is essential, as well as the ability to think critically and make sound judgments in a fast-paced environment.
