This role is an integral part of the Pricing and Yield Management (YM) Team within the Revenue Management Division. As a Revenue Management team member, you'll be empowered to make informed decisions that impact American Airlines' passenger revenue. Key Responsibilities
As an Analyst/Senior Analyst Revenue Management, your primary focus will be on synthesizing large data sets to understand market-level trends and strategies, diagnosing and resolving performance issues, and delivering insights to translate into meaningful market-level actions. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Acting as an internal business consultant to identify revenue opportunities and develop inter-departmental strategies through quantitative analysis of historical passenger demand, the competitive environment, and consumer buying behavior
- Collaborating with commercial counterparts, such as Network Planning and Revenue Engineering, to define strategies that position American Airlines to maximize revenue opportunities
- Ideating and building innovative methods to digest large quantities of information through data visualization, supporting teams in making evidence-based decisions and gaining buy-in from Senior Leadership
- Assisting peers in developing their critical thinking and analytical skills by distilling relevant trends from large quantities of data and understanding complex data outputs
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Aviation, Business, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field
- At least 2 years of industry or data-related experience, with a strong foundation in drawing insights from complex data sources, explaining findings, and sharing recommendations
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge:
- A Master's degree with significant coursework or experience in Analytics, Aviation, Business, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field
- SQL query writing ability and familiarity with Pricing and YM tools to conduct ad-hoc analyses
- Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau, and advanced Excel skills
- Superior technical and quantitative/analytical skills, with expertise in data manipulation and the ability to derive and present conclusions resulting in actionable outcomes
