Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Overnight Manager to join our team in Johnson City, NY. As an Assistant Overnight Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing the club and directing the work of the overnight team in the absence of the Night Manager. You will be responsible for coaching, teaching, and developing overnight team members to ensure excellent member service through excellent merchandising. Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the club and overnight team members in the absence of the Night Manager, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of club merchandising and member service
- Coach, teach, and develop overnight team members to ensure excellent member service through excellent merchandising, and provide input on evaluation and selection of team members
- Deliver a positive service experience to members, ensuring that merchandise is properly displayed and has appropriate signage, and that sales floor standards are maintained
- Follow and execute company directives related to merchandising, resets, and sales initiatives within the allotted time, and recommend merchandising changes to enhance sales
- Operate a forklift in a safe and efficient manner, and inspect forklifts prior to use, following established safety standards
- Maintain all club policies and procedures, ensuring that team members follow safety and sanitation guidelines, and validate steel and pallet safety walks, addressing any identified safety concerns in a timely manner
Essential Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License required
- Forklift operator certification required (will be certified by BJ's)
- At least 18 years of age
- Must successfully complete required training and certification processes
- Prior forklift operating and merchandising experience required
- High school diploma, college degree, and/or big box wholesale, retail, grocery, and/or management experience preferred
- Open shift availability required

- Leadership experience, including supervising cross-functional teams, training team members, and driving and communicating results
- Experience in a fast-paced retail environment, with a focus on customer service and team development
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build high-performing teams and drive business results
