About the Role
We are seeking highly motivated and experienced college students to join our team as Online Tutoring Professionals. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work remotely, delivering quality teaching online in American high school subjects and ESL to students from schools around the world. This is a part-time role that offers a competitive salary and the flexibility to work from the comfort of your own home.
Responsibilities
As an Online Tutoring Professional, your key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering quality teaching online in American high school subjects and ESL to students from schools around the world, both one-on-one and in groups.
- Establishing rapport with students and co-workers through strong communication skills.
- Using online teaching equipment and facilities, including a computer with a high-definition camera, headset with microphone, stable high-speed internet (wired connection preferred), great lighting, and a quiet environment.
- Embracing technology and online teaching, and being open-minded to a bigger world and more diverse cultures.
- Working late at night or early in the morning, as needed.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:
- Be a college student with a strong academic record, including an overall GPA of 3.0 or above, or outstanding scores in specific subjects.
- Have previous tutoring experience or be interested in becoming an online tutor.
- Be an entrepreneurial and self-driven independent contractor who offers excellent teaching services to the world and communities.
- Embrace technology and online teaching, and be open-minded to a bigger world and more diverse cultures.
- Have previous ESL teaching experience, although this is not a requirement.
- Have strong communication skills to establish rapport with students and co-workers.
- Be comfortable with online apps, and be willing to learn our user-friendly teaching platform.
- Have the necessary online teaching equipment and facilities, including a computer with a high-definition camera, headset with microphone, stable high-speed internet (wired connection preferred), great lighting, and a quiet environment.
Preferred Qualifications
We prefer candidates who:
- Are students from USNEWS TOP100 universities.
- Have previous experience working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Are fluent in multiple languages, although this is not a requirement.
