About the Role
As a Night Shift Complex Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our clients, working closely with our in-house trainer and Alcedo nursing team to ensure that you have the skills and knowledge required to provide exceptional support. This role will include, but is not limited to:
- Tracheostomy Care: providing care and support to clients with tracheostomies, including cleaning and maintaining the tracheostomy site, and assisting with breathing exercises.
- Stoma Care: providing care and support to clients with stomas, including cleaning and maintaining the stoma site, and assisting with bowel management.
- Peg Feed: providing care and support to clients with peg feeds, including preparing and administering feeds, and monitoring for any adverse reactions.
- Challenging Behaviour Support: providing support and guidance to clients with challenging behaviours, including developing and implementing behaviour management plans.
- Personal Care: providing personal care and support to clients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Manual Handling: providing manual handling support to clients, including transferring and repositioning clients, and using hoists and other equipment as required.

Essential Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- To be at least 18 years old, as this role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

- To have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills
While not essential, the following qualifications and skills would be desirable:
- Previous experience of working in a care setting, particularly in complex care.
- NVQ qualifications in health and social care, or a willingness to work towards achieving these qualifications.
- Experience of working with clients with complex needs, including tracheostomies, stomas, and peg feeds.
- Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and strategies, with experience of working with clients with challenging behaviours.
- Ability to use hoists and other equipment, with experience of manual handling and transferring clients.
