About the Role of a Medical Virtual Assistant
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Medical Virtual Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Virtual Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our healthcare clients by preparing and assembling medical record documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble medical record documentation/charts for physicians, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ensure medical record compliance by self-documentation attestation and adherence to hospital and medical facility policies, including those relating to HIPAA and Joint Commission.
- Update patient history, physical exam, and other pertinent health information in the patient's record, maintaining confidentiality and discretion at all times.
- Prepare and send all documentation to physicians for review and approval via authentication of detailed data entry and facility-specific procedures.
- Monitor the duration of basic lab results and screening procedures, ensuring timely follow-up and communication with healthcare providers.
- Perform other clerical duties and tasks to improve provider productivity and clinic workflow as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate understanding necessary to assess, review, and apply criteria, using critical thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve issues and improve processes.
Essential Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service or healthcare-related role, preferably in a medical office or clinical setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with healthcare providers, patients, and colleagues.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, with a focus on delivering high-quality results in a timely manner.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, maintaining organization and composure under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (EMR) systems, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

Preferred Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant or completion of a medical assisting program.
