About the Role
The Field Service Engineer III is a critical role at arenaflex, responsible for maintaining high-quality medical imaging equipment for our customers. This includes systems applications, quality checks, calibration, operating system help, software assistance, technical support, and issue troubleshooting. As a Field Service Engineer III, you will have the opportunity to work with high-end medical imaging equipment, including MR and CT systems, and provide exceptional customer service to our clients.
What You Will Do in This Role
The Field Service Engineer III role is divided into several key areas of responsibility, including:
- FIELD SUPPORT (75%): Troubleshoot high-end medical imaging equipment, establish and adhere to preventative maintenance schedules, maintain customer service logs and internal service records, and solve issues with medical imaging applications, electrical components, computer hardware, and software, mechanical and hydraulic systems.
- TECHNICAL SUPPORT (10%): Deliver technical support on high-end medical imaging equipment online and/or via telephone, communicate daily with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, and maintain system performance by performing system monitoring and evaluation, and performance tuning.
- APPLICATIONS SUPPORT (5%): Interact regularly with radiologists, technicians, physicians, and other medical professionals to keep abreast of new and existing imaging solutions, issues, and trends.
- SOFTWARE SUPPORT (10%): Provide continuous up-time support for applications software issues associated with the X-ray and Vascular modalities, utilize Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) for viewing, filming, archiving, networking, and database administration, and prepare users by designing and conducting training programs, providing software support and reference.
What You Will Need for This Role
To be successful as a Field Service Engineer III at arenaflex, you will need:
- Minimum 12 years of high-end medical imaging equipment maintenance and repair experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must hold a current, valid, and unrestricted driver's license, with a safe driving record based on arenaflex policies.
- Basic computer skills, with an understanding of computer networks and equipment interaction.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as emergency off-hours as needed to support a 24/7 schedule.
- Willingness to travel periodically to support business needs.
- The ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 75 pounds.
- The ability to often bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
Essential Qualifications

- Strong technical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex medical imaging equipment.

Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as biomedical engineering or a related field.
- Certification in medical imaging equipment maintenance and repair, such as CMIA or CRES.
- Experience working with MR and CT systems, as well as other medical imaging modalities.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements, such as Health and Human Services, Environment Health and Safety, and ISO13485 standards.
