We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Dictation Transcriptionist to work with us on a contracted basis. As a Medical Dictation Transcriptionist, you will be responsible for transcribing dictated recordings from medical professionals, adhering to strict formatting and spelling guidelines, and conducting basic research to ensure the accuracy and completeness of your work. Responsibilities
- Transcribe dictated recordings varying in audio length and quality, adhering to strict formatting and spelling guidelines.
- Properly format legal pathology reports and notes, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Transcribe medical terms, locations, and names with proper spelling and capitalization.
- Conduct basic research as needed to ensure the accuracy and completeness of your work.
- Adhere to E-Typist Guidelines and/or client preferences and proofread work before submission.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:
- Type at least 65 WPM with high accuracy.
- Have dictation transcription and word processing experience in an office environment within the last five-year period.
- Have a good working knowledge of the creation of formal correspondence, memos, reports, etc.
- Be familiar with medical and workers' comp terminology, as well as pathology and specimen reports.
- Have a strong working knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Word 2007 or newer, including advanced formatting features.
- Have excellent listening skills and be comfortable working independently.
Success Criteria
To ensure your success in this role, you will be expected to meet the following criteria:
- Work a minimum of 3 days per week.
- Maintain a spelling accuracy rating of 95% or higher after the first 30 days.
- Maintain a grammar and formatting accuracy rating of 95% or higher after the first 30 days.
