Key Responsibilities
As a Math Instructor/Tutor at Mathnasium of Yorktown South, your role will be multifaceted, focusing on delivering high-quality math instruction to students in a variety of settings. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Teaching and tutoring students in-center, online, and/or via hybrid delivery using the Mathnasium Method?, terminology, and teaching practices
- Working collaboratively with other team members to deliver individualized instruction in a group setting, ensuring each student receives the attention they need
- Assessing students' learning progress and engagement throughout instructional sessions, adapting your teaching strategies as necessary
- Becoming proficient with our digital educational materials and processes, leveraging technology to enhance learning
- Supporting the maintenance of a safe, professional, and welcoming learning environment that encourages students to thrive
Qualifications and Skills
To succeed as a Math Instructor/Tutor at Mathnasium of Yorktown South, you'll need:
- A passion for math and a desire to share this passion with students
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner
- An eagerness to learn and be trained in our methodologies, staying up-to-date with best practices in math education
- Exceptional math competency through at least Algebra I, with a strong foundation in the math curriculum for 2nd-12th grade
- The ability to balance various ongoing tasks, managing your time effectively to meet the needs of multiple students
All applicants will be required to:
- Take a math literacy test to demonstrate their math proficiency
- Provide work authorization
- Pass a background check
