Key Responsibilities
As a Lunch and Extended Day Teacher at Stratford School, you'll be responsible for:
- Supervising students during indoor and outdoor play, crafts, and snacks, ensuring their safety and well-being
- Guiding students in a nurturing and learning environment, promoting social skills development and character building
- Assisting students with their homework and providing support as needed
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment for students during extended day programs
- Communicating effectively with parents, teachers, and school administrators to ensure seamless coordination and collaboration
- Participating in staff meetings and professional development opportunities to stay updated on best practices and school initiatives
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A positive and energetic attitude, with a passion for working with children
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and staff
- Patience, empathy, and understanding in working with students of diverse backgrounds and needs
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach
- Basic knowledge of child development principles and practices
- First aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a school or childcare setting, preferably with elementary-age students
- Background in education, child development, or a related field
