The Opportunity: Live Community Moderator – Arenaflex Chat We are looking for passionate, detail‑oriented individuals to join our U.S. Data Security (USDS) team as Live Community Moderators. In this hybrid role—available part‑time or full‑time—you will protect the integrity of our real‑time chat environments, ensuring a safe, vibrant, and welcoming experience for our diverse user base. About USDS – Security‑First at arenaflex The USDS division operates as a security‑first unit within arenaflex United States. Its purpose is to enhance data protection, content moderation, and platform safety for American users. USDS collaborates closely with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Product, Engineering, and Trust & Safety teams to build robust processes, automate repetitive tasks, and respond swiftly to emerging threats. Key Responsibilities As a Live Community Moderator, you will: - Monitor Real‑Time Chat Streams: Review millions of user‑generated messages across live events, livestreams, and short video comments, flagging and removing content that violates community guidelines. - Enforce Policies Consistently: Apply arenaflex’s moderation policies—including hate speech, harassment, misinformation, and illicit content—while maintaining a balanced, culturally aware approach. - Collaborate with SRE Teams: Work hand‑in‑hand with SRE engineers to develop automated detection tools, improve incident response playbooks, and reduce manual moderation load. - Incident Response & Escalation: Participate in real‑time incident triage, escalating high‑severity events to the Trust & Safety escalation channel and documenting outcomes. - Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge bases, ensuring new moderators can quickly understand best practices. - Data‑Driven Improvements: Analyze moderation metrics, identify patterns, and propose enhancements to policies or tooling that increase efficiency and user safety. - Cross‑Functional Projects: Lead or support initiatives that automate moderation workflows, integrate AI‑driven detection, or improve user reporting mechanisms. Essential Qualifications - Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Communications, or a related field, OR equivalent professional experience. - Moderation Experience: Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience moderating user‑generated content for large‑scale platforms. - Technical Proficiency: Strong familiarity with Linux operating systems, shell scripting, and basic networking concepts. - Analytical Mindset: Excellent logical reasoning, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills. - Communication Skills: Clear, concise written communication; ability to convey policy decisions to diverse audiences. - Self‑Starter Attitude: Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment, and quickly adapt to new tools. - Location: Based in Kentucky, USA (remote work permitted with occasional on‑site meetings).
