- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including financial security assessment professionals, to resolve issues and achieve business objectives
- Leading and mentoring teams, or acting as a peer coach, to drive business growth and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Developing and implementing effective risk management strategies, ensuring proactive monitoring, risk identification, and escalation, as well as sound risk decision-making
Key Responsibilities
As a Financial Risk Assessment and Insurance Examiner, your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting complex financial risk assessments, including the evaluation of financial data, credit reports, and other relevant information
- Developing and maintaining expertise in financial risk assessment, including knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry trends, and best practices
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders, including business leaders, risk managers, and compliance professionals, to ensure alignment and effective risk management
- Identifying and escalating potential risks, ensuring timely and effective remediation, and developing strategies to mitigate future risks
- Providing guidance and support to junior team members, promoting a culture of excellence, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Experience in financial risk assessment, insurance examination, or a related field, demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
- A strong understanding of financial risk assessment principles, practices, and regulatory requirements
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
- A professional accounting certification (AAT or higher) is preferred, but not required
