Key Responsibilities
As an External Support Engineer at Netflix, you will be responsible for:
- Providing Technical Support: Offer technical assistance to external content creation teams on the use of our content tools, ensuring seamless integration and optimal usage.
- Creating Reference Materials and Training: Develop comprehensive reference materials and provide training to external teams, enabling them to effectively utilize our toolset.
- Debugging and Issue Resolution: Identify, debug, and resolve issues with tools and workflows, ensuring prompt resolution and minimal downtime.
- Escalation and Collaboration: Escalate complex issues to the tool development team, work with production to track issues in JIRA, and collaborate with engineers to develop tools and processes that improve efficiency and quality.
- Advocacy and Feedback: Advocate for tools, workflow improvements, and suggestions from external teams, ensuring that their needs are heard and addressed.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with other engineers, content teams, and stakeholders to drive features from initial concept to completion.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed as an External Support Engineer at Netflix, you will need:
- Education: A Computer Science or related degree, or equivalent work experience.
- Technical Skills:
- Ability to read and understand C# code.
- Experience with Unity 3D game and tool development.
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, or other defect tracking software.
- iOS and Android mobile development experience.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience working with external partners.
- Positive attitude and ability to receive and provide objective and constructive feedback.
- Strong organization skills and ability to prioritize and manage numerous requests simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Experience: 5 years of experience in delivering production-level code in a professional environment.
- Technical Expertise: Experience supporting a live service or tool environment.
