About the Guest Displays & Platforms Team

The Guest Displays & Platforms team is at the heart of Airbnb's guest-facing product, owning the main product details page (PDP) for Stays and Experiences, as well as Pricing & Availability (P&A) capabilities across all guest-facing surfaces. Our work is deeply intertwined with various teams, including Search, Checkout, Listings, Users, Host Settings, Payments, Tax, Cities, and Trust, to create a seamless and authentic experience for our guests. As an Engineering Manager on this team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to drive product vision and technical strategy.

The Impact You Will Make

As an Engineering Manager, Guest Displays and Platform, you will be responsible for:

• Leading engineering planning and delivery of new and improved guest-facing features and capabilities that power Airbnb's core lines of business.
• Building and nurturing a diverse team of engineers capable of turning ambitious product visions into polished reality.
• Fostering a culture of technical quality, from design through code review to production, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Collaborating with product, design, and other stakeholders to determine and document requirements, and working with engineers to plan, sequence, and deliver new features and capabilities.
• Understanding the state of our systems to identify areas for investment to maintain product quality and system health.
• Distilling and communicating deliverable plans, and celebrating shipping milestones.
• Hiring and coaching exceptional engineering talent, with a focus on understanding underlying motivations and dynamics.

Your Expertise

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

• 3-5+ years of engineering management experience, with 9+ years of relevant software development industry experience in a fast-paced tech environment.
• Expertise with both backend and client (iOS, Android, Web) systems in large-scale consumer applications.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor your message for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• An end-to-end, product-oriented mentality that transcends team boundaries and helps find globally optimal solutions.
• Good judgment in making tradeoffs to balance short-term business needs with long-term technical quality.
• Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively and find common ground with a wide range of teams who may have conflicting goals and priorities.

Location and Work Arrangements
