Job Overview
We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Scientist to join our team on a part-time basis, working remotely. As an Information Researcher - RWE, you'll be responsible for creating Real World Evidence (RWE) through advanced analytics and innovative methodologies. This role is a fantastic opportunity to leverage your technical expertise, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and make a meaningful impact on the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Mine raw data sets to deliver normalized, research-ready patient cohorts from in-house data sources or licensed platforms, analyze and interpret results, and help shape research strategy.
- Collaborate with various members of the blithequark Clinical Trial colleagues to deliver meaningful insights from real-world, clinical, and other data sources to support biopharmaceutical RWE and clinical trial requests.
- Clean, transform, and store data into an integrated data lake for future analysis and broader team utilization.
- Perform data mining and statistical analysis to analyze RWE/RWD to uncover new insights regarding patient populations and treatment outcomes.
- Support the development of real-world data, analytics, and platform capabilities, applying advanced analytics and tools to resolve scientific questions from biopharmaceutical companies.
- Work collaboratively on the design and execution of outcomes research studies.
- Ensure high-quality, rigorous, and readily interpretable outputs from RWE studies and analyses.
- Build dashboards, analyses, and reports for internal and external use.
- Conduct a due diligence on new real-world data suppliers/vendors and drive RWD quality assessments to inform investment decisions.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
To excel in this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- At least 2 years of experience with R, Python, or SQL.
- Experience in designing and executing robust and reproducible statistical analyses in the context of epidemiology and observational research with healthcare data.
- Knowledge of common statistical testing methodologies, including generalized linear models, clustering and segmentation, decision trees, machine learning, time-series analysis, and survival analysis.
- Experience handling large data from multiple data sources.
- Experience handling protected patient health information.
- Familiarity with at least one of the following: Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Spotfire, or other BI insight tools.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
To stand out, you'll ideally have:
- Expertise in EMR/Health IT, disease libraries, and insurance claims databases.
- Proficiency in clinical data standards, clinical terminologies, and controlled vocabularies used in healthcare data and ontologies (ICD9/10/ReadCode).
- Experience with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and/or regulatory compliance guidelines for real-world evidence studies or clinical trials.
- Experience handling alternative data sources and alternative methods for clinical data collection, particularly those enabled by technology platforms and/or solutions.
- Experience with trial design, Bayesian modeling, longitudinal data, computational statistics.
- A strong understanding of statistics and machine learning methodologies, with a commitment to ongoing self-learning of technical and non-technical skills.
