Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of those in need. With a strong presence across the state of Florida, LSF offers 60 programs that serve a wide range of populations, including children, families, and communities. Our mission-driven staff members are passionate about making a positive impact, and we are now seeking an experienced and passionate Early Years Teacher to join our team in Belleair Beach, Florida.
As an Early Years Teacher at LSF, you will have the opportunity to work with pre-school aged children or infants/toddlers in our Head Start/Early Heart Start Program. Your primary responsibility will be to plan, develop, and implement daily lesson plans that provide educational and enrichment activities for the children in your care. You will also be responsible for creating a safe and effective learning environment, assessing children's developmental and educational needs, and developing individual education plans to support their growth and development.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, as well as two years of experience teaching Head Start, Early Head Start, pre-school, or kindergarten age children. You should also have a working knowledge of brain development, child development, and developmentally appropriate practices for early childhood education. Bilingual skills in English/Spanish or English and other languages present in the local area are preferred.
To excel in this role, you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to plan, organize, and supervise the work of others. You should also be able to work effectively with infants, toddlers, and pre-school age children, and have the ability to resolve conflicts and provide physical assistance when needed. Additionally, you should be able to maintain confidentiality, follow established procedures, and administer CPR and First Aid as needed.
